thank you for "still shining", it brought tears to my eyes.

any chance you could share the name of the beat that starts around 37:00? it would mean a lot.

much respect.

Hay… thanks for reaching out. I appreciate you taking the time to check out the project too!! It truly means a LOT. The name of that track is “Aquarius” from my buddy Common’s album entitled ELECTRIC CIRCUS. We’ll be in touch soon! Reach out to me at ANYtime! -B.Kyle

Let’s start with a lil Dilla!!!

This is a special piece that I put together in the weeks following the passing of musical icon James “J.Dilla” Yancey in 2006. (5 years ago?! wow. crazy.) Finding anything new about Dilla at THIS point is “rare” at best. If you don’t know of him, it’s cool… this project isn’t for you. Even if you recently got familiar with Dilla, still not for you. This is not a “J.Dilla 101” documentary. (Go to Wikipedia for that and read his page from top to bottom, three times, then come back. Haha).  This project is for his fans that were familiar with who he was back in 2006. Footage started getting recorded while AT Dilla’s funeral as friends spoke directly to camera. Other interviews and special B-roll material was acquired to flesh it out. This is a piece for his fans to have, watch, and grow from as a result of watching. Rediscovered on a stored away harddrive since its completion in 2006, it has come to light.

Again… created as a tribute to the memory and legacy of James “J.Dilla” Yancey.  Here, we gain a greater insight and understanding about our musical icon.

Aight… see you in a bit. I’ll be adding the old-school footage that wasn’t used in the final project… including J.Dilla performance footage stuff, interview outtakes, etc etc… stay tuned for that stuff over the coming weeks. I have projects lined-up to shoot and edit, but I’ll find some time. It’s always Dilla time!
